Umbrella Boxwood Chess Pieces & Box – 4″ King

This classic Staunton-style selection offers a high-quality collection of handcrafted wooden pieces but at a significantly lower price tag to ebony or rosewood designs.

Meticulously carved from the finest quality Indian boxwood; known for its fine grain and high density, the Umbrella Boxwood Chess Set comes in attractive unstained (white) and stained or ‘ebonised’ (black) pieces. The Umbrella range is known for its intricate detailing on features such as the finials of the king and queen pieces and flowing concertinaed circular base.

The Umbrella Boxwood set is available in a king height of 4” and is recommended for use on our range of 21 x 21” chess boards (sold separately). This weighted set comes with a felt base for secure balance. Also included is a solid pine Storage Box for Chessmen which, with hinged lid and green felt lining, is ideal for safe keeping.
